Ascending - Guild Wars Forums

Ok I have an E/ME lvl 20, and I hate to sound pathetic here but I cannot beat that thing in order to ascend. I have come close like 3 times but close isnt doing it for me. Please help me with some advise on what to bring in for skills.

Easy money. I beat mine in about 20 seconds. Follow this Guide to defeating doppelganger to the letter.

This is the one that worked for me....

Bring Air Attunement, Earth Attunement, Fire Attunement, Water Attunement, Flare, Fire Storm and Meteor Shower, with all the points in Energy Storage and Fire Magic. While the Doppelganger casts the attunements, cast Fire Storm and Meteor Shower, then spam it with Flare.

Remember not to cast the Attunements yourself. It is merely just placed in your skill bar to delay his attack. When he/she/it is busy attuning, you do as much damage as possible. When it isn't dead and casts something that hurts, you simply move out of the way, and keep on hurting it as much as possible.

For all my 4 chars, I've never even put any effort or plan out a build to defeat the doppelganger, but suprisingly I've never failed beating it on the first try.

Here is what i did when I went through with my me/e, I had my Domination at 12, I loaded my other points into fast casting/water, and i loaded up the skillbar with low cost/low damage fire spells and backfire. Your doppleganger will cast those fire sills at 0 attribute, doing little damage to you, but taking damage from backfire.

Let's see, this was a long time ago, but took it in under 30 seconds, first try, with my E/Mo by putting heavy points in fire, and nothing but fire in the skill bar. Lead off with meteor shower going in, and while the doppleganger was busy getting knocked down, I ran up and finished it off.

My N/E daughter gave up trying, so I switched her points and skill bar around with the same result. One try, under 30 seconds.

This was after the AOE nerf, both times.

It is merely just placed in your skill bar to delay his attack. When he/she/it is busy attuning, you do as much damage as possible.
